Steps To Fix Scan To Network Folder Problem

Turn Off The Password Protection

  • Password protected sharing must be turned off for the scan to network folder feature. It would turn on sometimes due to technical issues. So, try to turn off the password-protected sharing and check whether the issue persists.
  • Go to the Start menu and select Settings.
  • Choose Network and Internet on the Settings page and click on Status on the left side of the panel.
  • Click on Network and sharing center and select Advanced sharing settings.
  • Expand All Networks in Advanced sharing settings and select Turn off password protection sharing under Password protection sharing.
  • Make sure you have made the changes to fix Scan To Network Folder Not Working issue. Now, perform the scanning to a network folder and check if it works.

Check On The Scan Properties

  • Go to the Start menu, right-click on it, and choose Computer Management.
  • Expand Local Users and groups from the left side panel and click on Users.
  • Select Scan and double-click it to open the scan properties.
  • Select Member of tab on the scan properties and select Add.
  • Select Groups icon pops up on your desktop. Provide the required details of the product and press OK.
  • Now, go to the account properties and select General.
  • Make sure the Password never expires option is enabled and press OK to save the changes to fix Scan To Network Folder Not Working problem.
  • Now, go back to Computer Management and right-click on the Scan option to set Password.
  • Set the Password and press OK to save the Password.

Sharing And Permission

Network Folder Setup
  • Go to the Scan properties and click on the Sharing tab.
  • Select Advanced sharing and make sure you select Permission.
  • On the Permission for scan window, select the scanner on the groups or user name and make sure you select all the scan permission options to allow.
  • Press OK and Apply.
  • Make sure that the “Scan to network folder Not Working” issue is fixed.
